Terms of Service
Effective 8 September 2026 · Last revised 8 September 2026
These are the rules that apply when you use WalkLingo. By using the service you agree to them.
1. Purpose
These terms set out the rights, obligations, conditions and procedures between the operator of WalkLingo (the “Service”) and the people who use it.
2. The operator
The Service is provided by:
| Service | WalkLingo |
|---|---|
| Company · Representative | 까치소프트 (Kkachisoft) · Representative 조승우 |
| Business registration no. | 419-70-00532 |
| Address | E-33, 59-1 Duteopbawi-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea |
| Contact | admin@arrghsoft.com |
3. Definitions
- “Service” means the WalkLingo mobile app together with its website and server features.
- “User” means a person who uses the Service under these terms.
- “Account” means the identity created through Google or Apple sign-in to tell users apart.
- “Free talk” means the feature for speaking with an AI teacher by voice.
- “Word pack” means a downloadable file of study vocabulary distributed by the Service.
4. Posting and changing these terms
The operator keeps these terms visible inside the Service and on the website.
The operator may change these terms within the limits of applicable law. Changes are announced at least 7 days before they take effect, or 30 days before if they are unfavourable to users.
If you keep using the Service after an announcement, you are taken to have agreed to the change. If you disagree you may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
5. Accounts
Accounts are created through Google or Apple sign-in. The operator never receives or stores your password.
You may look around as a guest without signing in. As a guest you cannot use features that need the server, such as free talk and word pack downloads.
An account is for you alone; you may not transfer or lend it. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been misused.
6. What the Service offers
The operator provides:
- Vocabulary — learning words and example sentences by ear
- Situation practice — speaking along with a scripted conversation
- Free talk — speaking with an AI teacher by voice
- Scheduled calls — starting a lesson as an incoming call at a time you choose
- Word packs — downloading sets of study vocabulary
7. Plans and payment
The Service has a free plan and a paid plan (Pro). Vocabulary, situation practice and review are available on either plan.
Free talk has a monthly time allowance. The allowance and the price are as stated inside the Service, and any change is announced in advance.
Payment is taken through the Apple App Store, Google Play or a web checkout. Payment methods, renewals and cancellations follow each store's own procedure.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. To stop a renewal, cancel through the store before the next billing date.
8. Withdrawal and refunds
You may withdraw from a purchase as provided by applicable law.
For purchases made through an app store, refunds must be requested from that store and are subject to its refund policy.
Refunds may be limited for a period that has already been substantially used.
9. What you must not do
You must not:
- use another person's account or impersonate anyone
- reverse engineer or modify the Service, or call it in bulk by automated means
- copy, distribute or sell word packs, audio, artwork or other material from the Service without permission
- steer free talk into producing unlawful content or content that harms others
- interfere with the normal operation of the Service
10. Limits of the AI conversation
Your partner in free talk is an AI model, not a person. Grammar explanations and translations can be wrong, and the same question may get a different answer each time.
What the AI says is for language practice. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial or other professional decisions.
Exam material (JLPT, HSK, TOEIC and so on) is study reference only. It does not guarantee the scope or the result of any real exam.
11. Intellectual property
Rights in the Service and its text, artwork, audio and word packs belong to the operator or the rightful owner.
You may use them for your own study only. You may not copy, distribute, transmit or make derivative works without permission.
What you say during free talk remains yours.
12. Changes and interruptions
The operator may change or discontinue all or part of the Service, and will give notice where notice is possible.
The Service may pause temporarily for maintenance or faults, network trouble, or events beyond anyone's control.
If the Service closes entirely, the operator will give at least 30 days' notice and refund paying users for the remaining period.
13. Ending the agreement
You may end your use at any time by deleting your account in the app. Server-side information is then deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
If you breach section 9 the operator may restrict your use or terminate the agreement. You will be told the reason and given a chance to respond beforehand — except where other users would be harmed immediately, in which case we act first and tell you after.
14. Liability
The operator works to keep the Service running reliably.
The operator is not liable for loss caused by matters outside its control, such as natural disasters or outages at a carrier or cloud provider.
Your study history is stored only on your device. The operator is not liable if you lose it by deleting the app or changing devices.
This section does not apply to loss caused by the operator's intent or gross negligence.
15. Personal information
Personal information is handled under the separate Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
We will first try to settle any dispute by talking. If that fails, either party may bring the matter to the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
Addendum
These terms take effect on 8 September 2026.
